Linepoint ("we," "our," or "us") is developed by MimicLabs. This page states what the app does and doesn't do with your data, in full, because the list is short.
Information We Collect
Nothing that identifies you. There's no account, no sign-up, no email address, no name, and no password anywhere in the app.
- An anonymous identifier. On launch, and again whenever the session drops, the app signs in anonymously through Firebase Authentication. This assigns your install a random identifier with no email, name, or other personal information attached. There's nothing to sign in with, and nothing to sign in as.
- Game progress, on your device. Every round, streak, unlocked Face, and setting is stored locally on your device: the lifetime progress and echo history that feed the Faces unlock ladder, your haptics setting, and the Face you have equipped.
- One leaderboard record, if you play ranked. When you finish a ranked run, Linepoint keeps one small record on Google's Cloud Firestore: your assigned player name, your best run, when you set it, and how many runs you've finished. The name is made up by the app (something like swirling-swan-29), assigned rather than chosen, and the record is tied to the anonymous identifier, so it carries no name, email, or anything else about you.
How We Use Your Information
The anonymous identifier does two jobs: it keeps your install signed in so the app works, and it keys your leaderboard record if you play ranked. Your progress is read on your device to draw your stats, your streaks, and the Faces unlock ladder. Your ranked total is sent to the global leaderboard so the top 50 has something to rank. That is the whole list.
Ads
Linepoint shows ads through Google AdMob: a banner, and now and then an ad between rounds. On first launch the app asks. In regions that require it, Google's own consent form appears first, and your choices there govern. Then Linepoint's primer and Apple's tracking dialog appear. If you allow tracking, Google uses your device's advertising identifier to pick ads that are relevant to you; if you decline, ads are non-personalized and no advertising profile is built. The game is identical either way. If the consent flow can't complete, ads stay non-personalized and the app asks again next launch. You can change your answer at any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security → Tracking, or through Ad privacy in the game's settings where it appears. What Google does with ad data is covered by Google's privacy policy.
What Linepoint Doesn't Do
- No tracking you didn't agree to. The advertising identifier is touched only after you allow it in Apple's tracking dialog. Decline and ads stay non-personalized, with no advertising profile built.
- No analytics. No analytics SDK tracks how you play.
- No purchases. Every Face is earned by playing. There's no store, no purchase flow, and nothing to buy.
- No selling data. We don't sell your information. There's no personal information here to sell.
Third-Party Services
Linepoint uses three Google services, and each does one job. Firebase Authentication handles the anonymous sign-in above; its practices are covered by the Firebase Privacy and Security policy. Cloud Firestore stores the one leaderboard record described above. Google AdMob serves the ads described above, personalized only with your consent, covered by Google's privacy policy. Your free-play progress, echoes, and settings never pass through any of them. They stay on your device.
Offline Play
Linepoint plays fully offline. Free play never needs a connection, and if the anonymous sign-in fails, the game keeps working. Ranked runs need a connection to post your total to the leaderboard; offline or blocked, the board fails soft and gameplay never waits on it.
Data Retention
Your progress lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. Deleting the app deletes it. Your leaderboard record is the one thing we hold anywhere else: it stays on Cloud Firestore until you ask us to delete it (see Your Rights below). The anonymous identifier itself lives on Firebase's servers until you delete and reinstall the app (which issues a new one) or until MimicLabs deletes it. It is never linked to a name, email, or any other personal information.
Children's Privacy
Linepoint doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. There's no account and no form to fill in. The anonymous Firebase identifier and the leaderboard record it keys carry no personal information regardless of who's playing, and ads stay non-personalized for anyone who hasn't expressly allowed tracking in Apple's dialog.
Your Rights
The one thing we hold is your leaderboard record. Email privacy@mimiclab.ai with the player name the app shows you, and we'll delete the record or send you a copy of it. There's no in-app deletion flow, so email is the route. Everything else lives on your device, and uninstalling the app removes it. If you have questions about your data, contact us below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. The date at the top will change with it.
